Today’s Funko Friday will be a follow up on my last Street Fighter Funko Pop article! Last time I showed you Dan, but this time it’s Street Fighter‘s most popular female fighter: Chun Li, an iconic female character within the world of arcade games! It’s also worth noting that she was the first female fighter in the series who is an expert martial artist and Interpol officer.

Character
Chun Li’s appearance is iconic in the world of gameplay. She is known for having strong, muscular thighs. Chun-Li’s appearance has differed several times in the Street Fighter series, as well as in official art and cameos she has made in other works. Her hairstyle is probably her most iconic feature. Her hairstyle is called “ox horns”, a typical style in which Chinese children dress their hair; depictions of girls in Chinese paintings frequently show girls in ox horns. In almost every game, Chun-Li’s signature move is the Hyakuretsukyaku, which was her ability to throw multiple kicks in one sitting. Its easy accessibility (bluntly pressing a kick button rapidly) has become a staple in many games.

The Funko Collection
There are 8 Funko Pops to collect in this series which include Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, Blanka, Balrog, Dan and Hot Ryu from Street Fighter V. Funko also released some Street Fighter Funko Pop store exclusives which include Special Attack Ryu (Toys R’ Us), Special Attack Ken (Toys R Us), Hyper Fighting Blanka (ThinkGeek), and Green Blanka (Walmart). That’s a pretty impressive amount of Funko Pop to collect for one arcade game! The store exclusives were released late-January/mid-February.

The Funko
The Funko itself is really cute and one of my favourites! The paintwork is top quality and she stands well. I love her powerful stance, she looks like she’s ready to fight and I adore her ‘ox horns’, they’re really cute. I love how varied the Street Fighter Funko collection is in terms of colour and vibrancy. Each one looks amazing!
