December 5th – December 11th
This past weekend it was the third annual PlayStation Experience in Anaheim, CA, so there were a slew of games released this weekend for the platform.
December 3rd | |
Lara Croft Go | PS4, PSVita |
Let it Die | PS4 |
Mother Russia Bleeds | PS4 |
Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 | PS4 |
December 4th | |
Lara Croft Go | Win, Mac, Lin |
If you haven’t played any of the Square-Enix Go titles, such as Hitman Go or Deus Ex Go, they are incredibly solid puzzle entries into the traditional franchises for iOS and Droid. I have played Lara Croft Go on my commute many times, and urge PS4 players to at least check it out. The other big announcement is Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 coming to modern platforms, with PC and Xbox One versions coming in March 2017. Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 was pulled from the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live back in 2013 due to Marvel not renewing their licensing agreement with Capcom, so it is nice to see the game back online.
PlayStation Experience releases aside, the two big launches this week are the long delayed The Last Guardian from the Ico and Shadow of Colossus developer Team Ico. The trailers give off a very Neverending Story vibe, so expect the dog-bird-griffin to die at the end in a heroic sacrifice. On the Xbox One and Windows side of releases Dead Rising 4 releases on the same day, bringing creative zombie slaughter home just in time for the holidays.
