The BBC’s Top Gear is on shaky ground. Since Jeremy Clarkson’s departure the ratings have slipped lower than they’ve ever been. Beyond that, the new co-hosting team just can’t seem to work together.

Matt LeBlanc (yes, of Friends fame) has threatened to quit Top Gear unless co-host Chris Evans (no, not that Chris Evans) gets kicked off. The Sun (a tabloid known for British-centric drama) has said that LeBlanc is sick of Evans rudeness and frosty attitude towards the Top Gear team and audience members and that the pair just ‘doesn’t gel well together’.

LeBlanc’s declaration has left the BBC bosses with a choice to pick one host over the other. LeBlanc has already been paid for two series and it is believed the next series, due to begin filming in September, may be shelved while they try to make a decision.

The Sun is known best for the gossip its rumour-mill churns out and Top Gear is no exception. Is there truth beyond the rumour? Evans has painted himself as an ignorant bastard. If LeBlanc isn’t back next series, we’ll know why. Until then, any fans of the show should take the news with a grain of salt.

I read, I write, I play videogames, Ghostbusters is my favourite thing in the known universe, but quasars come in at a close second. I've been known to cry at the drop of a hat over happy and sad things alike. I've also been known to fly into a rage if things don't go my way, leading to many a fight in high school and breaking someone's nose on the TTC one time. I'm an anxious introvert but also a loud-mouthed bad influence. Especially on my cat. He learned it from watching me, okay!
