Rogues’ Essentials

Assassinistas TP

  • Only read the first issue of this, but I’m excited to catch up on this unique spy story in trade. – Anelise
  • Several of the Black Crown titles have been spot on. I read the first issue of this and enjoyed it, so I look forward to seeing where it goes. – Greg
  • The Black Crown imprint has been nothing but quality. Can’t wait to catch up on this series. – Michael

Deadpool #3

  • This is the Deadpool series I’ve been waiting for. – Anelise
  • It’s OK, Deadpool. Even though nobody likes working with you, I love reading this comic so far. – Michael

Immortal Hulk #4

  • This series is making me a huge Hulk fan. So good. – Anelise
  • This is the best Fresh Start from Marvel by far. Storytelling at its finest. – Michael

Leviathan #1

  • The whole idea behind this book sounds deliciously ridiculous. Cannot wait to check it out. – Greg
  • I love John Layman’s sense of humor and this absurd premise for a series allows for the kind of creative freedom from this team that I can’t wait to explore. – Kylee
  • Idiot bros accidentally summon a hell beast while their friend is going out to get more beer. Hate when that happens. – Michael

Mister Miracle #10

  • I have stopped anticipating when this book is coming out since it always seems to get pushed. Instead, when it shows up in my pull list, I just greet it with genuine surprise and joy. – Greg
  • In case you’ve forgotten about this little book, it’s inspired by Jack Kirby, and written and drawn by two Eisner winners. Buy it. – Josh

Quantum Age #2

  • World of Black Hammer set in the far future. It’s like Legion of Superheroes in a dystopian society. – Josh
  • The Black Hammer universe has encapsulated different kinds of storytelling, from homage to older comics, to detective stories, to Greek tragedies. This promises to be a good start to a dystopian future. – Michael

Seeds #1

  • The cover alone has me intrigued. Bees! Sci-fi! Sweet! – Anelise
  • I’m cheating because I’ve already read this, but this book has a unique style and a very compelling setup in this debut issue. – Cory
  • Journalism, dystopia, bees, and aliens? I’m in. – Josh

Cory’s Picks

Adventures Of The Super Sons #1
The Super Sons are back! Huzzah!

Green Arrow #43
The Benson sisters make their GA debut, not counting the Annual #2, which served as a No Justice tie-in. Their work on CW’s 100 and the recent Birds of Prey has me looking forward to what they will do with Ollie and Co.

Robots Vs Princesses #1
The only thing I know about this is the title…and that is enough for me, to be honest.

Seven To Eternity #10
Seven to Eternity is back. Stop. The. Freaking. Press.

Greg’s Picks

Astonishing X-Men #14
Rosenberg is one of my favorite writers right now. The fist issue of his run on Astonishing started to put the team together with the return of a long dead teammate. I’m looking forward to finding out more about his return to the living.

Infinity Wars #1
One good thing about these non-event events is that they tend to stay self contained. The lead up to this has been interesting, so I will give it a chance.

Jameson’s Picks

Marvel Rising Ms. Marvel Squirrel Girl #1
Take two of the best characters in modern Marvel comics, combine them and voila! You’ve got Marvel Rising. I’m pumped about this series.

Steven Universe Harmony #1
I’m super curious about this five-issue arc, especially after the SDCC announcement about a Steven Universe movie! The heart-shaped gem from that teaser trailer looks awfully similar to the one on the cover for this issue. What could the connection be?

Josh’s Pick

Teenage Mutant Ninja Cerebi #1
A Canadian comic series about an aardvark who was originally a spoof of Conan the Barbarian. Since then i’ts evolved quite a bit and covered a variety of topics, becoming more serious in tone. And my friend designed this cover.

Stacy’s Pick

Bubba Ho-Tep And The Cosmic Blood-Suckers #2
Elvis vs. Space Vampires. What else do I have to say?
