Sony and Activision have announced two new games in the Ghostbusters universe. The first, titled, Ghostbusters, is a third-person, action role-playing game that you’ll be able to level up gear and abilities by claiming objectives, taking out ghosts and other creatures, and finding hidden objects and features a four player co-op. The game is set after the events of the upcoming reboot film, so while the core team takes out larger threats, a new team is holding down the fort in New York City while they’re away. The new recruits are comprised of two women and two men, each with their own different play style and skill set. Names and histories are not yet known for these characters.

Ghostbusters hits the PS4, X-Box One, and Steam July 12.

The other release is a mobile game titled Ghostbusters: Slime City. You’ll move up the leaderboards by collecting ghosts while also creating your very own proton packs and customizing your own base. You’ll find the components and gears you need for this along your way. Players can also band together to save New York City through asynchronous co-op or compete in special PVP events for bigger rewards and bragging rights.

There’s no news on a Slime City release date as of yet so keep an eye on Activision’s twitter for news.

I read, I write, I play videogames, Ghostbusters is my favourite thing in the known universe, but quasars come in at a close second. I've been known to cry at the drop of a hat over happy and sad things alike. I've also been known to fly into a rage if things don't go my way, leading to many a fight in high school and breaking someone's nose on the TTC one time. I'm an anxious introvert but also a loud-mouthed bad influence. Especially on my cat. He learned it from watching me, okay!
