I love the flood of original content that’s been coming to Netflix. I’ve said it a bunch of times over the last week or so but hot damn is it ever awesome. In a time when Hollywood is less willing to take a risk on an original idea to put in theaters, we see Netflix snatching up those properties and releasing them on the streaming service for the masses. It’s refreshing that we get to see fresh content that’s literally at our fingertips.

Snowpiercer was a huge movie in 2013. It did better than anyone probably thought it would both financially and critically. It’s a fantastic freaking film and the next film from the director of it, Bong Joon Ho, has a new project up his sleeve called Okja starring Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Giancarlo Esposito, Steven Yeun, Lily Collins and newcomer Seo Hyun An.

The synopsis provided by Netflix is this: From visionary filmmaker Bong Joon Ho, the creative mind behind the worldwide sensation Snowpiercer, comes the new global adventure Okja. The film follows the epic journey of Mija, a young girl who must risk everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend – a massive animal named ‘Okja’.

Okja will be available to stream on Netflix on June 28.
