It’s Mahvel Baby! Today was the closing of the EVO 2017 community vote, and Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 beat out Pokken Tournament by a mere $5,000. Of course, all 9 games in the vote will have their totals donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, totaling over $150,000!
Not to disappoint fans of the second place winner, EVO has promised to donate $10,000 towards Pokken Tournament tournaments during 2017, to ensure the growth of the game. It was also announced that the recently released PS4 version of Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 will be used at the three day tournament held in Las Vegas. Capcom has always had a large presence at EVO, and with Marvel VS Capcom Infinite on the way, it will be nice to give Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 a final send off.
EVO 2017 will be held at the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas Nevada from July 14th to the 16th. The finals for Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 will be played on the main stage on Sunday. There were 15,000 in attendance for the tournaments in 2016, with the finale being broadcast on ESPN2 and Twitch.
