It’s officially October! The first week of the month has some more of the fall season premieres starting up. What else is new this week? In the home video department, we get the newest Pirates of the Caribbean. In theaters we get the highly anticipated Blade Runner 2049.

Pick of the Week: Gifted

The X-Men universe is where many people said this whole glut of superhero movies and shows really got their start. In the years since the X-Men franchise first hit theaters, the films have had their ups and downs. Fox has been able to do what they will with the series. After the last couple of movies did not do well, it was left to Legion to help save the franchise last spring.

Now we get the next TV show based on the X-Universe with Gifted. In this version of events, the X-Men are either gone or missing and society is hunting down and imprisoning mutants. One of the most successful hunters has his life turned upside down as he finds out his own children are indeed Mutants. Swearing to protect his children leads to the discovery of an underground team of Mutants who are trying to help and protect their kind.
