With the holiday season fast approaching, I’m here to help eliminate some of your stress and tell you to go to Toronto Fan Days. On December 9th at The Metro Convention Centre, you can check out this awesome mini convention and support some talented artists this holiday season. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to grab nerdy gifts for the special people on your list. Here are some artists that you should definitely support:

Amy Spaulding

Are you shopping for someone who has a bit of a vintage flair? Stop by Amy Spaulding’s table! Her work has a retro pulp aesthetic and the painterly quality is out of this world. I’m a huge fan of her Disney pin-ups. She’s also bringing some holiday cards to Fan Days, so make sure to check her work out.

Bianca Siercke

If you have a chance to buy one of Bianca’s originals and get it framed, it would make a gorgeous gift for that nerdy someone on your list. I’m in love with her Disney Inktober drawings and Sailor Moon illustrations. Here is a little bit about Bianca taken from her website: “I’m a Storyboard Artist, currently working at “House of Cool”. I’ve also had the pleasure of being a 2D and CG Feature Animator. I love drawing, designing, animating and telling stories.”

Deena Pagliarello

You have probably seen Deena’s art at comic conventions across North America. She’s tabled at C2E2, WonderCon and Toronto’s own Fan Expo. Her table in artist alley is full of badass Marvel, Disney and DC Comics ladies. She has prints in different sizes but make sure to check out her enamel pins and Feminist Witch tote bags.

Hodge Podge Collective

If you haven’t heard of Hodge Podge collective yet, they are Two Toronto-based artists that work in drawing and bookbinding! You may have seen them at this year Fan Expo in Toronto. Grab one of their silkscreened t-shirt’s or handmade notebooks for that special someone on your Christmas list.

Tina Tran

Tina Tran is a Toronto based artist who draws some amazing witches (and other cool things). Shopping for your girl gang? Or some Sailor Moon lovers? Check out Tina Tran’s amazing stickers and prints. Her patterned pouches would make an great gift.
