Predator is one of my favourite films and when I found this translucent Predator Funko Pop I knew I had to have it! There are many translucent Funko Pops to be had but this has to be one of my favourites! It’s green blood splatter adds character to it and looks amazing when it’s shone with colourful lights. With news circuating that Mr Schwarzenegger may (or may not) be joining the new film (which has director Shane Black, who played Hawkins) I decided to fill you on the films so far, just in case you haven’t seen them (which I’m pretty sure you all have).
Predator: Arnie stars in the first science fiction action horror film Predator which was made in 1987. He stars as the leader if an elite special forces team who are on a mission to rescue hostages from guerrilla territory in Central America. Whilst deep in Central America they’re unaware that their being stalked by an advanced being of extraterrestrial life who is secretly stalking and killing each of them one by one. The film, which now is considered a cult film is one of Schwarzenegger’s most popular films and if you’ve seen it you know exactly why!! Full of action which is never ending and once you believe their safe it takes another route entirely. Of course Predator is always one step ahead of their game and by the end it’s all about out smarting him. Out of all the predator films (including Alien vs Predator) this is my second favourite film in the franchise. I couldn’t quite predict what was going to happen which made it more enjoyable. The acting is slightly over the top but it doesn’t ruin the film and if you love a bit of beefcake and need some muscle goals then this is definitely the film for you!
Predator 2: Predator 2 was made in 1990 and if I’m honest it’s probably my least favourite from the Predator franchise (yes it even comes behind Alien vs Predator, don’t judge!) and received many negative reviews in comparison to the first film, however it’s still considered a cult film by fans of the franchise. Unlike the first film it’s based in Los Angeles and follows Lieutenant Michael R Harrigan as he tries to find and fight the Predator who is taking the lives of Columbian and Jamaican gang leaders one by one. The best part for me was acting by Danny Glover, who for me, stole the film.
Alien vs Predator: It’s exactly what the title says. The film is set in 2004 and follows a group of archeologists who discover mysterious heat which leads them on an expedition to the Antarctic. The group soon discover a pyramid below the surface of a whaling station boasting hieroglyphs and sculptures which reveal that the pyramid is actually a hunting ground for Predators who kill Aliens as a rite of passage. Unfortunately the humans are caught in the middle while also trying to prevent the Aliens from reaching the surface. Even though it received mixed to negative reviews I enjoyed it. I found it to be a fun film. I haven’t seen the sequel so please no spoilers in the comments!
Predators: This is, without a doubt, my favourite film from the whole franchise! It reminds me a lot of Dog Soldiers in terms of suspense! The film follows an array of characters including Royce whose a mercenary who appears in an unidentified jungle among other murderers and otherwise suspicious people. They find out that they’ve been abducted and placed on a planet which acts as a game reserve for two warring tribes or Predators. Directed by Robert Rodriguez the film ties up with Predator and Predator 2, while completely ignoring the Alien Vs Predator films. Definitely worth a watch.
Even though it’s unfortunate there is not much I can say about the Funko Pop itself I do hope you enjoyed my article. What is your favourite Predator film? Leave your comments!
