Episode Notes

Trailers

Two trailers this week, the first of which is Wonder Woman 1984. We get our first look at Kristen Wiig before she becomes Cheetah, the return of Steve Trevor, and–since it is the ’80s–plenty of mall action. But did it make us want to see the movie more?

The second trailer is Ghostbusters: Afterlife. A family has lost everything and moves to Oklahoma to help clean up their grandfather’s abandoned home. But while there, strange things begin to happen and obvious connections to the original Ghostbusters are uncovered. But is it just a nostalgia-filled romp or will it build on the original story?

Weird News of the Week

This week we decide to bring some high society to the show as we visit an art gallery and talk about an art installation that involves duct tape and a banana. But the story does not end there, as a snack and Jeffery Epstein are involved also.

Comics

Red Mother #1

Imagine a nice quiet life, jetsetting around the world and planning a future with your significant other. But all that changes one fateful night after dinner when your date is dragged away and your eye is ripped from your skull. And that is just the first 10 pages! But does the promise of the strong beginning equal a great overall story?

Dying is Easy #1

It’s the next book from Joe Hill, this time from IDW. Comedy is a cut-throat business, sometimes literally. But do joke stealing and insults need to lead to cold-blooded murder?

Lucy Claire: Redemption #1

Life comes at you fast. One day, you’re the hero who has run of the ruthless, magical wolves who have killed many; the next, you are passed out in the drunk tank. But what happens when the wolves you had helped vanquish come back ?

Harley Quinn: Villain of the Year #1

Even villains deserve recognition from their peers for all the work they do, right? Well, it’s time for the annual awards ceremony where all the biggest awards are handed out … including the highly sought-after Villain of the Year. The awards are hosted by Harley herself, and when this many baddies are in one room, hijinks are sure to ensue.
