Guillermo del Toro has had a rough couple of years creatively. There was the cancelled Silent Hills game, known only as P.T. nowadays. The cancelled game inSANE. Studios turning down his H.P. Lovecraft movie, and a stop-motion animated film based on Pinocchio that’s stuck in development hell. He announced years ago he’d be writing and producing a new take on Van Helsing. There’s been no word since.

BUT there’s been good news for his Trollhunters property!

Back in 2010, DreamWorks Animation purchased the rights to del Toro’s story and planned to turn it into a feature film, but the project stalled. In January of this year, DreamWorks announced that the long awaited Trollhunters is being produced as a Netflix original series.

There’s not much information on the series yet, but it’s promising a new, fantastical world that’s vast and mind-blowing. This year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival will premiere exclusive footage from the series, but until then it looks like the promo picture is all we’re getting.

Trollhunters is set to debut exclusively on Netflix later this year.

I read, I write, I play videogames, Ghostbusters is my favourite thing in the known universe, but quasars come in at a close second. I've been known to cry at the drop of a hat over happy and sad things alike. I've also been known to fly into a rage if things don't go my way, leading to many a fight in high school and breaking someone's nose on the TTC one time. I'm an anxious introvert but also a loud-mouthed bad influence. Especially on my cat. He learned it from watching me, okay!
