Last week I was spoiled and received one or two Funko Pops as gifts! My new Hatsune Miku funko pop was one of three (yes, three!) that I received. As you can see it’s limited edition and absolutely adorable!!! I have many anime related Funko Pops and this is the first one I’ve opened (thus far). Hatsune Miku is one of the main protagonist from the very popular manga series Maker Hikoshiki Hatsune Mix, which is a collection of stories all ranging in size and plot and explores the many possibilities in story-telling.
Hatsune Miku or Miku Hatsune, which she’s sometimes referred as, is a humanoid persona voiced by a singing synthesizer application developed by Crypton Future Media which is a Japanese company based in Sapporo. It develops, imports and sells products for music purposes such as sound generator software, DVD’s and CD samplings, as well as sounds effects and background music libraries. The company also provides services for such requirements as online shopping, online community and mobile content.
Hatsune Miku is portrayed as a 16-year old girl, famous for her long turquoise pigtails. She is known for using Yamaha Corporation’s Vocaloid 2 and Vocaloid 3 singing synthesizing. She is the second Vocaloid to be sold using the Vocaloid 2 engine and was the first Japanese Vocaloid to use the Japanese version of the Vocaloid 2 engine. Her voice was sampled from Japanese voice actress Saki Fujita and Miku has performed at her concerts onstage through animated projection. The names meaning literally translates to ‘The first sound from the future’ which is a reference to her position as the first of Crypton’s “Character Vocal Series’.
This is a limited edition Funko Pop as you can see by the material it’s made from. It’s an Underground Toys Exclusive so there will not be many around. I absolutely love the glitter style it embodies, it appeals to my feminine girly side. There are no markings of any kind with this little Funko Pop and of course, thanks to it’s hair it stays up perfectly. I’ve noticed with recent Funko Pops they now come with a stand, so I guess no one can complain about how they stand up. Even though there is a limited amount of colour they haven’t missed a single detail, especially when it comes to her hair. The little fringe in the front is adorable. Unfortunately there isn’t much more I can say about this cute little Funko Pop so I hope you enjoy my images instead.
