The Funko Pop crew have blessed us with not just one, but with two waves of Dragon Ball Z Funko Pops! Funko has created many limited edition pieces of our famous Z warriors as well so if you’re a DBZ fangirl/fanboy then you’ll be spoilt for choice! Hopefully they’ll bring our more characters in a third wave! I would love to own a Master Roshi or a Tien Funko pop!!
I’m nearly completing my collection of Dragon Ball Z Funko Pop series and the most recent one I got from the subscription box ‘Pop in a Box’ was Gohan!
Gohan is the elder son of the series’ primary protagonist Goku and his wife Chi-Chi, the older brother of Goten, the husband of Videl and father to Pan. Gohan is the first hybrid (half-Earthling, half-Saiyan) to appear in the series. He is named after Goku’s adoptive grandfather, Gohan.
Unlike his father, Gohan lacks a passion for fighting and prefers to do so only when the need to defend his loved ones arises. Nevertheless, Gohan fights alongside the Z Fighters in the defence of Earth for much of his life. He eventually settles down with a family at the end of Dragon Ball Z, opting for the life of a scholar instead.
Gohan is part of the second wave of Dragon Ball Z Funko Pops. Other characters include Majin Buu, Krillin, Trunks, Goku and his flying Nimbus, and Bulma. Gohan is the fourth Funko Pop I have from this wave. He’s a tiny Pop in comparison to his dad’s nimbus Pop but he’s really cute. I love his little outfit too, especially the hat! When Gohan is first introduced, he wears a child’s outfit with his family name, ‘Son’, written on the front and the Four-Star Dragon Ball attached to his hat, the same Dragon Ball in which Goku believed that his grandpa’s spirit resided. I love the fact they chose this appearance as the first Gohan which makes me think we’ll be having a few more Gohan Pops coming our way, since his appearance changes throughout DBZ.
