In September I was fortunate enough to attend one of the screenings of The Witch, a film by Robert Eggers. My roommate took me for my birthday and so on this day of happiness and joy (in theory), I was scared out of my mind.
The Witch is a small budget horror film that, like Paranormal Activity, garnered so much attention that it wound up getting a fairly wide release in theaters. The positive reviews from fans and critics alike didn’t hurt as well.
Lionsgate has announced that the film is on its way to DVD and Blu-ray this spring. It’ll hit store shelves on May 17, 2016 and will have a few really cool bonus features that should give you some more insight into the film, if it was something that you enjoyed or plan on enjoying.
Check out what will be included below and check out the trailer as well, if you haven’t already (although I think that it’s even better to go into the movie with no previous knowledge of it).
Special Features:
- Audio Commentary with Director Robert Eggers
- The Witch: A Primal Folklore
- Salem Panel Q&A
- Design Gallery
