In Old Man Logan #38, the conclusion to this story arc, Old Man Logan has just about had it with this flash drive that can supposedly take down Wilson Fisk. The growing body count surrounding the encrypted data drives him to go straight to the source to figure out what is on it, but, first, he has to go through Bullseye to get it back. And the truth he ends up learning isn’t exactly easy to face.
It might be a little hard to talk about Old Man Logan #38 without giving too much away, but I was happy with the way this mystery concluded in a kind of depressing, open-ended way. Everything Logan has done to learn the truth might end up to come back around and haunt him, and it’s hard to say if any of it was worth it. That doesn’t mean his beef with the Kingpin is over, which is good for us because it means more Logan.
The artwork in this series has been great overall, but there were a few times in this particular issue it seemed weaker. A car-chase-turned-car-collision scene ended up a little confusing to tell what exactly was going on. But overall, it continues to enhance the storytelling in this series.
Verdict: Buy it.
If you’ve been following along so far, you won’t be disappointed with Old Man Logan #38. At least I hope not. Definitely nothing about Russian hookers on the flash drive, but the twist satisfied my quasi-Nihilistic itch.
