Details of the next Pokémon GO update have been released by Niantic, and the monster list is finally expanding to include Pokémon found in the Gold/Silver Gameboy Games. The Gen II games added an additional 100 Pokémon to the original 151 from Gen I, so it looks like we are getting most of the monsters from Gen II. Still no word on the Legendary Pokémon from either generation, like Mewtwo, Suicune, and Zapdos.

There are also a slew of new features coming with the Jhoto region ‘mon. Monsters from If a Gen I monster that evolved into a Gen II counterpart, such as Onix evolving into Steelix, required an item in the original games those items can be found at Pokéstops.

Two new berries will also be added to the game, Nanab Berries and Pinap Berries. Nanab Berries will slow a Pokémon down while you attempt to capture it. Pinap Berries will double the amount of candy you receive when you catch a Pokémon.

These additions are expected some time this week. Check out our 2016 Game of the Year Podcast for our thoughts regarding Pokémon GO.
