Rogues Portal Book Club: August 2017 ⋆

Welcome back to the Rogues Portal Book Club, readers!

It’s officially August so that means it’s time to start reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets! The Rogues Portal Book Club will meet on Monday, August 28th at 1 PM on the Rogues Portal Twitter and on our hashtag, #RPBookClub. Y’all were rockstars last month in our chat on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, I had so much fun chatting with you all.

I’m going to be honest – I’m nervous about this month’s book. I remember really liking Chamber of Secrets as a kid. I was a pretty constant defender of it – nearly all of my friends rank it pretty low on their “oh-god-do-I-have-to-choose” rankings of the Harry Potter books.

My constant cries of “but it’s got some really good bits!” have always fallen on deaf ears. There are distinct things I remember laughing out loud about while reading. The valentines! Fred and George’s everything! A flying Ford Anglia! I’m hoping the book still delivers, that I enjoy it just as much as I had when I was eight. What did you think of it, if you’ve read it before?
