More monsters for your pockets phones with Pokemon Duel!
Originally available in Japan as Pokemon Comastar, the Pokemon Company has released this game in the West as Pokemon Duel. Now available on iOS and Android, Pokemon Duel pits amiibo-like statues or figurines against each other in a strategy battle.
Players are given a team of six, much like the original games, and the goal is to reach the end of the opponent’s field. Like most strategy-style games, each Pokemon has its own set of abilities and spaces it can be moved per turn. If you land beside an enemy Pokemon, you can begin a battle, choosing your moves via a spinning disk system.
Pokemon Duel has online matching and offers a solid offline experience against the game’s AI. The in-app purchases come in the form of Gems, currency that allows you to buy special booster items or plates to equip to your team for new abilities. Gems can be earned through gameplay too. Otherwise it is free to download and play, so go check it out!
