Tap My KatamariExperience a new way to play Katamari! Tap My Katamari is a spin-off clicker game in the strange and quirky universe of sticky balls, tiny green royalty, and idle cowbears. You are the Prince, tasked by The King of All Cosmos to restore the universe and its stars by tapping. To do so, you’ve been given the Katamari, a magical ball that makes everything it touches stick to it. Grow your Katamari into a star and restore the universe! If you enjoy the Katamari universe, try this new incremental game and discover a new way to play Katamari on your phone!

Do you know how to tap your finger rapidly on the screen of your phone or tablet? Then you’ve already mastered Tap My Katamari! If you don’t know what Katamari is already and are thinking that there has to be more to it then sticking things to other things? Nope, that’s it! The Playstation games have you using a joy stick to move in three dimensions but mobile gaming has simplified it further. Tap the screen, collect things in a straight line, earn coins, upgrade elements, keep tapping.

It doesn’t sound like much, but it’s honestly so addictive! You’ll tap away, telling yourself that you’ll only pick up a few more objects and then you’re done. Before you know it, you’ve leveled up your little Prince by fifty and have created a goddamn sun! Like any Katamari game, Tap My Katamari is really beautifully designed. It’s bright, it’s colourful, and you’ll have a hard time pulling yourself away from it.

Tap My Katamari

Since Tap My Katamari is a mobile game, there is an in-game currency that you can spend actual money on. The game’s currency is pieces of candy, which can be slowly earned through gameplay or can be bought, $2.79 for 200 pieces all the way up to $69.99 for 7,000 pieces. There is also the option to earn free candy, which will have you watching advertisements for other games for a low payout. On the bright side, there are no pop-up or banner ads in the game.

The Verdict
Play it!
Katamari has always been a ridiculously simple game but manages to be a surprisingly addictive and fun experience. Tap My Katamari is no different. Maybe it won’t keep your attention as long as some other mobile games, but it’s worth having around when you want something easy but fun.

Tap My Katamari is available for Android and iOS.

I read, I write, I play videogames, Ghostbusters is my favourite thing in the known universe, but quasars come in at a close second. I've been known to cry at the drop of a hat over happy and sad things alike. I've also been known to fly into a rage if things don't go my way, leading to many a fight in high school and breaking someone's nose on the TTC one time. I'm an anxious introvert but also a loud-mouthed bad influence. Especially on my cat. He learned it from watching me, okay!
