Three rings went to the Elves. Seven to the Dwarves. Nine to the men. Nineteen Rings of Power in total. And the one thing to rule them all? The Limited Collector’s Edition of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit!
The Limited Collector’s Edition of the six Middle-earth movies is huge. It will contain 30 discs featuring the extended editions of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Each movie and its extras will be housed in a faux leather book for each film and those will be housed in a Hobbit-style wood shelf.
The collection will also have an exclusive 100-page sketch style book with a replica of The Red Book of Westmarch (a fictional manuscript written by hobbits) and two original reproductions of watercolour painting by artist Alan Lee and John Howe.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will also be releasing a version of the Blu-ray/DVD collection featuring just the theatrical versions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit trilogy.
The Middle-earth six Film Limited Collector’s Edition will come with the hefty price tag of $799.99. The Theatrical Collection will be available on Blu-ray for $68.99 and DVD for $35.99.
Both collections will be available on October 4, 2016.
