After a successful 11 year run, Chirault has concluded! Following Teeko, a teeny tiny girl who has
teamed up with Kiran the “demon-hunting demon” in an attempt to get back to normal. The story also follows as Kiran searches for his origins to learn further about what he is.

From the Campaign:

“This campaign is for the printing of the final two books in the series! Chirault will have five volumes in total, and the first three have already been printed; the remaining two volumes will bring the full pagecount to 1282, including the bonus comics and epilogues.

Printing two books at once is an ambitious goal, but in truth the books themselves are essentially finished. The pages have been laid out and typeset, and the artwork has been checked over and remastered wherever necessary, getting it fit for print.”

Recommendation:

Although at a more ambitious price point, consider backing at the $270 level. Not only will you receive the book, you’ll also receive a bookplate, two prints, and an original signed comic page!

From the creator: “Chirault is illustrated with brush inks and greyscale markers, on 8.5×11″ paper– the only digital editing on most pages is to clean up the gutters and add the lettering (which is a font based on my own handwriting). The original pages are very close to what you can see in the books and on the website, and so I’m happy to offer them as a reward on this campaign! Backers at this tier will also receive all the rewards from the ‘prints’ tier.”

That is a pretty cool, one of a kind reward!

The Creative Team:

Ally Rom Colthoff is comic artist, illustrator, and 3D modeler working in the animation industry. She is based in Toronto, where she has worked as a texture artist in the 3D children’s television industry for the past 5 years.

In 2007, she started working on a webcomic called Chirault, which was her introduction to creating comics. Initially it was intended to be a practice run for another comic, but it quickly grew far beyond her initial plans, turning into a sprawling tale with a large cast and a great deal of worldbuilding. During the eleven years spent working on Chirault she has also taken on other sequential projects, including many collaborations– she has also illustrated stories for the Toronto Comic Anthology each year since Volume 2.
