In the exciting world of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them news, we finally have the actor who will grace screens as a young Dumbledore in the second instalment of the series.
Pottermore has reported that Jude Law will play Albus Dumbledore in the sequel to Fantastic Beasts. Pottermore says that in Fantastic Beasts, it will show Dumbledore BEFORE he became Headmaster of Hogwarts.
Welcome to the Wizarding World family, Jude Law! https://t.co/axrt5P9fXP

It will also be interesting to see where all of this lands in the film. From Harry Potter history, we know that Albus had an attachment to both of the main characters in Fantastic Beasts. Dumbledore fell in love with the films villain Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) and argued for Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to stay in Hogwarts when he was expelled for endangering the life of a student (after you know… taking the blame for Leta Lestrange… BUT I DIGRESS).
David Yates has praised Jude Law for being an awesome actor and I couldn’t agree more. Jude Law has had some fantastic film roles including The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Closer, Sherlock Holmes, Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus and many more. Recently his role in HBO’s The Young Pope and upcoming role in King Arthur as Vortigern has really given him the comeback to Hollywood that he needs. What better way to make an even bigger comeback than to play Albus Dumbledore, one of the most influential men in literary and pop culture.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2 begins filming this summer and comes to theaters November 16, 2018.
