The inaugural HASCON kicked off with a bang on Friday, September 8 as fans poured into the Rhode Island Convention Center. The day was jam-packed with panels, demos, and brand experiences, including a My Little Pony “ponification” station and a larger-than-life Yahtzee! bowling game. Hasbro is the largest toy company in the world, and its first-ever fan convention reflects that scope. Here’s the first post in our official HASCON wrap-up!

If you’ve been following us on Twitter, you may have caught our livetweet of the “Star Wars: 40 Years of Play” toy panel and an interview with Marvel legend Stan Lee. If you missed out, follow the tweet links below to see the threads.

We’ve also shared some snaps of various displays (including Marvel movie costumes for Black Panther, Spider-Man, Thor, and Captain America), as well as a handful of awesome cosplayers. Plus, robots. Who doesn’t love robots?

HASCON has brand experiences for nearly all of its most popular properties. Upon walking into the main convention floor, a massive Optimus Prime statue greets guests. Mjolnir hangs from the ceiling to mark the Marvel section; a massive puffer fish version of Spike the Dragon from My Little Pony marks the area to meet the mane six from Friendship Is Magic. The con offers exclusive merch (including a Pinkie Pie-inspired DND dice box)… some of which we’ll be giving away in the next few weeks!

For now, check out some photos below (click through for each slide!). Then we’re off to another panel! Happy Friday, everyone!

You can find our Saturday and Sunday wrap-up here. Until next year, thanks HASCON!
