Geeky Diaries: Disney Vinylmation Unboxing

Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 was one of my favourite films of 2017 and when I found this mystery box all by itself in the Disney Store in London I knew right away I was the only one capable of giving it a good home! I have never unboxed a Vinylmation before so I’m really excited to see what the product will look like!!

Vinylmation is a brand of 1.5″, 3″, and 9″ vinyl collectibles sold at Disney theme parks, select Disney Stores, and the online Disney Store. The name Vinylmation is a combination of the word Animation and Vinyl. Most figures are all shaped with the body of Mickey Mouse but have different themed markings, colors, and patterns. This means that all figures have round mouse ears, whether or not the painted character has them. From this I can expect whatever I character I have will have cute little Mickey Mouse ears!

There are 9 Vinylmations to collect in the Guardians of the Galaxy series. Characters include;

Drax
Gamora
Gamora (sleeveless)
Groot
Groot in brown shirt
Mantis
Nebula
Yondu
Star-Lord
Rocket

If I had to choose I would definitely like Yondu or Mantis. I loved Mantis in the film even though they made her out to be a complete air-head (if you’ve read the comics you know this is not the case) and with Yondu I mean, who didn’t fall in love with him by the end of the film. His death is still too triggering for me.

Groot!
He’s cute, especially with his Mickey Mouse ears and the quality is absolutely great!! The paint job is perfect, and he has articulation in his arms and head! I am slightly disappointed I didn’t get Yondu or Mantis. I might try and trade him online or something. He was enjoyable to photograph and his expression is adorable!

Will I Purchase More
Not from the Guardians of the Galaxy series no. However I might purchase one or two more Vinylmations next year for you guys to see! I’m not quite sure what other Vinylmation series’ there are but I will definitely keep a look out!! Do you have any you would recommend? If so, leave them in the comments below!!
