Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Release Date: June 18th (XBOX, PS4, PC) & June 25th (Switch)
Platforms: XBO, PS4, PC, Switch
Now that Konami is mainly making pachinko machines, fans have been asking for a new Castlevania game. We haven’t had a new one since 2014, and it wasn’t the usual 2D style that fans love. Koji Igarashi, who is responsible for some of the best-reviewed Castlevania games, did a kickstarter for a brand new Castlevania game in everything but name. We had to wait nearly four years, but in June we’ll finally see if it will live up to the hype. Fingers crossed!
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
Release Date: June 21st
Platforms: XBO, PS4, Switch
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was a huge hit for Activision back in 2017. Now, we jump ahead two years, and the remake of Crash Team Racing is going to be here at the end of the month. The first game was pretty well received, and Nitro-Fueled looks to stay true to the Playstation original while making good use of a kart racing game in 2019. Online multiplayer, all of the old tracks, as well as some from the sequels from Playstation 2 are included. If Team Sonic Racing wasn’t your thing, Crash Team Racing might be what you’ve been looking for.
Samuari Shodown
Release Date: June 25th
Platforms: XBO, PS4
Street Fighter IV came out in 2008 and really revived the fighting scene around the world. It took the game back to the basics while having a very striking style that was easy to sell to the masses. SNK is hoping to do the same thing with Samuari Shodown this month on PS4 and Xbox One. The PC and Switch versions are set for Fall 2019.
Judgment
Release Date: June 25th
Platforms: PS4
The Yakuza team over at Sega has been pumping out gold for years now. It took a while, but the games finally took off in America. Now we’ve got Judgment, which is all about the court room and investigations. Of course, some of that will lead to wild fist fights around Japan.
The Sinking City
Release Date: June 25th
Platforms: XBO, PS4, PC
The Sinking City might be a game that isn’t on your radar. This is an adventure/investigation game set in an open world and inspired by H.P. Lovecraft. Frogwares is responsible for a few good Sherlock Holmes games, and The Sinking City looks to build on those games.
Super Mario Maker 2
Release Date: June 28th
Platforms: Switch
This bad boy is still the game that I’m looking forward to the most this month. Why, you might ask? It’s simple: it has everything included in Super Mario Maker and much more! Building levels with friends and slopes with brand new music made just for this game in the same style as the old 8- and 16-bit games are just a taste. The list goes on. Just remember all friends start out as strangers at one point!
