I haven’t treated myself to a new figurine for a while now. There is very little space in my room for me to accumulate any more Funko’s so I’ve begin purchasing Funko’s Mystery Mini’s which are small enough to fit perfectly on my shelf!
There are 53 different Mystery Mini-type boxes to be had!! Some of favourites include:
- Mystery Mini Blind Box: Alice through the Looking Glass
- Mystery Mini Blind Box: Best of Anime Season 2
- Mystery Mini Blind Box: Horror Series 3
- Mystery Mini Blind Box: Disney Villains
- Mystery Mini Blind Box: Disney Princess
- Mystery Mini Blind Box: Disney Series 2
- Mystery Mini Blind Box: Horror Series 2
- Mystery Mini Blind Box: Marvel
- Mystery Mini Blind Box: My Little Pony 1,2,3
- Mystery Mini Blind Box: Suicide Squad
The Mystery Mini Blind Box I chose to purchase was the Best of Anime Series 2. This series of mystery mini blind box is focused primarily on characters that have appeared in Shonen Jump, which is a shonen manga anthology that is published in North America by Viz Media, however it published it’s last issue in 2012, reason being that Viz Media wanted to focus primarily on weekly digital manga anthology. Some of it’s most famous manga’s (all of which have had success with their own anime series!) include;
- Bleach
- Gintama (wish they had included characters from Gintama in this blind box)
- Dragon Ball Z
- Hikaru No Go
- Naruto
- One Piece
- Shaman King
- Slam Dunk
- Yu-Gi-oh
Of course there are many more than this!! The Mystery Mini Blind Box itself focuses on 5 manga-to-anime shows. There are 12 characters to collect all together and you have 1/12 chance in in bagging any. The characters include:
- Luffy – One Piece
- Chopper – One Piece
- Vegeta – Dragon Ball Z
- Goku – Dragon Ball Z
- Piccolo – Dragon Ball Z
- Naruto – Naruto
- Sasuke – Naruto
- Light – Death Note
- L – Death Note
- Ryuk – Death Note
- Ichigio – Bleach
- Kon – Bleach
So without further a-do…what did I get??
Sasuke!!!!!
I’m very happy with my Mystery Mini. I’m not going to lie I was hoping for either Piccolo or Vegeta but then I came to my senses and realised that I have plenty of figurines depicting these characters. It’s refreshing to have a character from a different anime. Look at his adorable face though?! I’ve never seen him with such an expression. I love his hair and his pissed off look!! The paintwork was also top notch too which is always a bonus!!
I really do hope they bring another Mystery Mini Anime Blind Box and it would be awesome if they brought out another Shonen Jump special. Hopefully they will include Gintama characters and may be able to get a miniature Kagura on my shelf!!
