I WANT TO BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

…that this will be really, really good!

But seriously. I haven’t yet gotten around to the latest revival of X-Files which aired back in 2016 and yet, I’m still looking forward to this new series that was announced. Okay, not a new series but rather an event series that Fox has ordered for the 2017/2018 spanning over 10-episodes.

Chris Carter is back as an executive producer and Scully and Mulder are of course back. The series will begin filming in the summer with the episodes set to air sometime (as mentioneD) in 2017/2018.

“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows,” said David Madden, president of Fox. “And they are some of the reasons why The X-Files has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide. Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.”

Can we talk about how much I love Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny in real life? Their relationship gives me so much joy. Look at how cute they are:

SIDEBAR: I was writing this article and accidentally typed in “X-Giles” instead of “X-Files” and now I want a crossover where Giles teams up with Scully and Mulder.
