“TONIGHT WE CANCEL THE APOCALYPSE!”

Right actor, wrong movie… but it still applies. Idris Elba shows off his sick guns in the first trailer for Stephen King’s epic book series turned film, The Dark Tower.

I’ve never read The Dark Tower before, so I have no context for how it stacks up comparatively but MAN OH MAN, am I ever excited to watch this movie. The synopsis on IMDb is this: “The Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, roams an Old West-like landscape where “the world has moved on” in pursuit of the man in black. Also searching for the fabled Dark Tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world.”

Nikolaj Arcel, the director of A Royal Affair and writer of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (foreign trilogy adaptations) is at the helm for this project. Arcel has been associated and interested in book and comic book properties over the last few years but has settled on this project to bring to life. Arcel, along with Akiva Goldsman (writer of Batman & Robin and other such gems), Jeff Pinkner (Alias, Fringe etc), and Anders Thomas Jensen have tackled the screenplay for the film.

Playing the role of The Gunslinger is one of my forever Hollywood crushes, Idris Elba along with Matthew McConaughey as Man in Black. Katheryn Winnick VIKINGS!!!!!!!!!, Nicholas Hamilton, and more.

Okay okay okay… enough rambling… LET’S WATCH THE TRAILER:
