Category: TV Documentary
Goal Date: March 31st, 2021
Goal: Successfully funded $841,000 of goal $150,000 USD

On the heels of a successful and acclaimed Star Trek: Deep Space Nine documentary titled What We Left Behind, 455 Films has sets its sights on the Delta quadrant to explore the behind the scenes of the beloved series Star Trek: Voyager (1995-2001). 455 Films, a familiar name in the Star Trek world, is also responsible for various other Star Trek documentaries such as For the Love of Spock and The Captains.

While filming has already commenced for Star Trek: The Voyager Documentary, the quantity and quality of material depends on how much is raised during the campaign. Having already met its funding goal of $150,000 USD on March 2, 2021, the Voyager campaign has been adding more assorted stretch goals. The perks for the campaign range from character pins, t-shirts, postcards, a replica of Janeway’s coffee mug, and video chats and Away Missions with the cast and crew. The Away Missions involve visiting physical Voyager locations throughout Los Angeles with certain Star Trek cast members, a perk that will hopefully be safely fulfilled post-pandemic.

Perhaps one of the most intriguing stretch goals is the HD remaster for any Voyager footage used in the documentary. Voyager and Deep Space Nine are the only two Star Trek series not to get a remaster beyond their DVD release. These stretch goals would mean that for the first time audiences could experience what remastered Voyager footage looks like in High Definition.

From the Campaign:

“It’s been over 25 years since Voyager first got lost in the Delta Quadrant and took us all on an incredible seven-year journey. It is now time to revisit, celebrate, and fully explore what made this Star Trek series so special. The cast and crew of this groundbreaking show deserve the highest recognition, and with your help, we are going to make happen!”
