Game of Thrones Season 7 is here… much like winter both in Westeros and the real-world. If you’re like me, you’ve been waiting for the series to hit home video to watch or rewatch the whole thing in glorious HD.
Season 7 of the series was easily my favourite of the entire run so far and gave me everything I had been waiting YEARS to see. Of course, there’s still one more season to go after this (not until 2019!) but I was so satisfied with what I got out of these episodes that it makes the long wait until Season 8 a little more bearable.
In addition to getting to watch this great show, the Blu-ray set includes a whole buttload of bonus content. Some of the special features included on the Blu-ray set are:
- Audio Commentaries. As usual, there will be audio commentaries on every episode. Watch out for showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss to show up, as well as stars like Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), and more.
- From Imagination to Reality: Inside the Art Department-Extensive. This two-part featurette revolves around production designer Deborah Riley and her art department. How did they go about creating the sets for Casterly rock, Highgarden, the Dragonpit, Dragonstone 2.0, and more?
- Fire & Steel: Creating the Invasion of Westeros. The cast and crew sound off about the biggest moments of the season in interviews. Sounds good and general.
- Conquest & Rebellion: An Animated History of the Seven Kingdoms. Written by Game of Thrones staff writer and loremaster Dave Hill, this series will focus on Aegon Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros some 300-odd years before the events of the series. Narrators include Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy), Conleth Hill (Varys), Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), and Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen).

Favorite moment: …um, that time with the dragon and the 1976 Olympic Gold Medalist for Javelin throwing.
I have to say that there have been many great moments throughout the series. But my favorite was seeing Daenerys Targaryen riding Drogon for the first time! Breathtaking!
Definitely the epic battle at Hardhome in Season 5. That scene played out like the most bone-chilling horror movie meeting the most gripping action thriller.
