Do you want to own a sketch from one of your favourite comic artists? The lovely people over at the Thought Bubble convention in the UK are here to help. Over on the Thought Bubble eBay account, they are currently holding a charity sketch auction for the art from last years’ Sketching Spotlight.
The Sketching Spotlight is a regular event at Thought Bubble. In it, a selection of comic artists are interviewed about their approach to illustration while creating a live sketch in front of an audience. The artists involved last year, and whose art will be part of the auction, were Joëlle Jones (Lady Killer, All-Star Batman), Charlie Adlard (The Walking Dead, Savage), Sara Pichelli (Runaways, Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man), Nick Derington (Doom Patrol), Sean Phillips (Sleeper, Criminal, The Fade Out), James Stokoe (Godzilla: The Half-Century War, Orc Stain) and Gabriel H. Walta (The Vision, Magneto).
100% of the proceeds (excluding P&P) will be donated to Barnardo’s, the UK’s largest children’s’ charity. Barnardo’s work with children to help with a range of issues such as adoption, mental health, homelessness, abuse and addiction. More details of the auction are available on the Thought Bubble blog.
If the sketches have whetted your appetite for the convention itself then Thought Bubble 2018 will take place from 17th September until 23rd September in Leeds, UK although tickets are not yet available.
