Bob’s Burgers may still be the baby of the FOX Animation Domination family, but it’s one the most best loved thanks to it’s strong family dynamic and adorable children! I mean, who wouldn’t want Louise for a daughter, right?! It kicked off it’s seventh season this year and it’s already released it’s Christmas episode! It was such a good episode, like all of their previous Christmas Specials. It made me want to recap all of their Christmas Specials, since we can’t really do a Top 10 (or even a Top 5) yet!

Father to the Bob

Season 5 Episode 6

Bob’s father, Big Bob, is throwing his annual Christmas party at his restaurant, Big Bob’s Diner. Linda urges them all to go, even though Bob and his father don’t get along. Bob institutes a “15 Minute Rule”, which represents his father’s ability to say something within the first 15 minutes of their visit that’s so offensive that Bob cannot stand to be around him and must leave. Since he was a child working in Big Bob’s Diner, his father has not understood nor respected his son’s desire to make creative burgers.

Rating: 2/5
I wasn’t fussed on this episode. It was really sad, and I’m not much for sadness, especially in the colorful world of Bob’s Burgers.

Nice-Capades

Season 6 Episode 5

When a grumpy mall Santa threatens to put the kids on the naughty list when they confront him about taking too long on the massage chair, Tina, Gene and Louise decide to put on a musical performance spectacular to earn their spot on the Nice List.

Rating: 3/5
It’s cute, but they do have better ones than this.

Christmas in a Car

Season 4 Episode 8

The Belchers are forced to go out and buy a new Christmas tree on Christmas Eve since the one they had has just died. While pulling out of the tree lot, their car is almost hit by a large semi truck decorated to look like a candy cane. Linda tries to spread Christmas cheer to the irritated driver by honking the horn in time to “Jingle Bells”, but, as Bob tells her, all the driver can hear is honking. The semi takes off and the Belchers head home. However, Bob notices that the candy cane truck was actually waiting for them and tries to run them off the road. Back on the road, the candy cane truck reappears and nearly runs them off the road again, with the family now believing Bob. They pull off into a side road into the woods to hide as the candy cane truck pursues them, but find their car is stuck in the snow.

Rating: 4/5
This was pretty action packed for a cartoon. It’s not an episode I could watch over and over but I enjoyed the ride.

The Last Gingerbread House on the Left

960-1

Season 7 Episode 7

As the Belchers prepare for Christmas, Bob gets an unexpected call from Mr. Fischoeder asking him to bring food to a party at his home. When Bob arrives, he discovers that he has gotten involved in an intense gingerbread house building competition with Mr. Fischoeder’s rowdy group of friends. Meanwhile, Linda and Teddy try to inspire some Christmas cheer in the neighbours as they take the kids carolling.

Rating: 4/5
I love Mr Fischoeder! He is such an eccentric and again it’s such a cute wholesome episode!

Gayle Makin’ Bob Sled

960

Season 6 Episode 4

When Gayle is injured, Linda sends Bob off to pick her up, so that she doesn’t miss out on Thanksgiving festivities. But an unexpected snowstorm derails his trip home, and his epic plan to prepare the turkey is foiled. Bob then must put the fate of the turkey and the Belcher Thanksgiving in Linda’s hands and spend time bonding with his sister-in-law.

Rating: 5/5
I know this is more of a Thanksgiving episode but it has snow in it so it qualifies as a Christmas episode also. It has Gayle in it. I absolutely love Gayle so this will always be one of my favourites!

God Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins

Season 3 Episode 9

When Bob inherits a storage unit around Christmas, the family hope that they will contain riches, but instead they find a squatter named Chet who claims he was previously a display mannequin. The family take him in, only to discover that he has a talent for creating seasonal window displays out of mannequins, in which he also poses. As Christmas approaches Chet becomes increasingly unstable, eventually claiming that he is in love with another mannequin from whom he has become separated. The display which he creates in the absence of his love is macabre and terrifying, and the desperate family track her down to a sex store. Liberating the mannequin, they reunite her with Chet and convince him to create a more appropriate display in time for Christmas.

Rating: 5/5
I LOVE this episode. It was the first Christmas episode and it was so weird and cute and such a lovely message at the end. The kids were so sweet to give up their Christmas to a man they found in a storage unit!!! Sweet sweet kids.
