I have followed Rob Zombie’s career for many years now.  I even managed to talk my way into press passes one time and got to meet the man himself.  Rob is a creative genius, when I talked to him, he had all these ideas planned and had his vision on how to accomplish them.  After talking to him and seeing his work, I think he misses the execution at times.  I enjoyed House of 1000 Corpses, only to be let down with The Devils Rejects. Now I know I am in the minority with that opinion, but let me explain.  The mystique of Corpses quickly exited in Rejects when they became redneck serial killers. I enjoyed Rejects, but would have enjoyed it better if it was a separate movie than Corpses.  Moving on to Halloween and Halloween 2, I liked the first, I tolerated the second. Once again, I feel like he missed the execution.  I get what he wanted to do, but it didn’t translate as well as it probably did on paper. And as for Lords of Salem…….I like the steelbook it came in.

Now Rob Zombie is set to release his latest feature 31.  As one can expect from Zombie, the trailer is full of terror, violence, and we get more clowns, sadly none are portrayed by Sid Haig. Zombie has been fighting and struggling for awhile now to get this movie released. He had a successful crowdfunding campaign and unfortunately got hit with the soul crushing NC-17 rating, not once, but twice.  After finally completing successful edits, he got the R rating that he was hoping for to begin with.  But never you fear, if you are curious to what was cut, Zombie has already said that there will be an uncut version of the film.

31, which stars Zombie’s wife, Sheri Moon Zombie and Malcom McDowell tells the story of five carnival workers who are kidnapped and held hostage in an abandoned, rundown compound where they are forced to participate in a deadly game.  The goal of the game is to survive twelve hours against a gang of evil and sadistic clowns.  You can’t get much more Rob Zombie than that!  31 brings the torture and blood into theaters on October 21, 2016.  Check out the trailer below!
